Nellrie Williams Davis, 87, of Leroy, died Sept. 18, 2011 at the Jackson Medical Center. She was a faithful and devoted member of the St. Union Missionary Baptist Church in Leroy, where she served until her health failed.
Survivors include three sons, James E. Davis Jr., Hattiesburg, Miss., Charles (Betty) Davis, Saraland, Ed (Rebecca) Davis, Leroy; five daughters, Willie C. Davis, Mary D. Johnson, both of Leroy, Dora F. Jackson, Martha L. Jackson, both of Houston, Texas, Edna D. (Authur) Crawford, Detroit, Mich.; four sisters, Charlene (Marcus) Gross, Callie Lawry, both of Gulfport, Miss., Lorraine Lacy and Bessie Boykin, both of Mobile; one sister-in-law, Lucy L. Culpepper, Thomasville; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Davis Sr. and a daughter, Ruby D. Robinson.
The service was Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11 a.m. at St. Union Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in the St. Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
