Bobby Neal Powell, 81, of Grove Hill died Sept. 18, 2011 at Camden Nursing Home.
He was born July 8, 1930. He was a native of Suggsville. He was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. He was a retired self-employed logger.
Survivors include two sons, Rayford (Gretchen) Gates, Bob (Leila) Powell, all of Jackson; two daughters, Laura (Jack) Few, Saraland, Joann Daffron, Lillian; three brothers, DeVane Powell, Birmingham, Royce Powell, Thomasville, Frances Powell, Grove Hill; two sisters, Shelby Sullivan, Wagarville, Jane Sheffield, Grove Hill; nine grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; one greatgreat grandchild.
The service was Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson. Rev. Irby Weaver officiated. Burial was in Trinity Memorial Gardens.
Active pallbearers were Robby Powell, Scott Gates, Don Giles, Gerard Kwilecki, Joe Russell, Heath Haynie, Dean Moseley and Glenn Moseley.
Honorary pallbearers were Terry Powell, Jason Powell, Doug Parnell, Larry Sullivan, Joe Powell, Dennis Powell and Ray Sheffield.
