Howze

Rosa Mae Howze, 83, of Coffeeville died Oct. 2, 2011 surrounded by the love of family.
She was born Nov. 6, 1927 in Salitpa. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Union Baptist Church of Coffeeville where she served as a Sunday school teacher. She was a member of the Senior choir and Missionary Society. She was a mother and homemaker for several years, prior to employment with the Clarke County Education System as a cafeteria worker at the Coffeeville High School. During her employment she developed a close bond with many of the students and co-workers. She retired in 1995. She enjoyed listening to music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. She truly believed in helping anyone in need throughout the community. Our loved one will be sorely missed.
Survivors include four sons, Cleveland (Jenny) Howze, Montgomery, Ronnie (Patty) Howze, Huntsville, Donald (Rose Mae) Howze, Winn, Gerald (Euladia) Howze, Jackson; four daughters, Dorothy (Thomas) Jackson, Thomasville, Faye (Roe) Williams, Powder Springs, Georgia, Rita (Ron) Early, Huntsville, Lynn Howze, Huntsville; two sister-in-laws, Viola Jordan, Montgomery, Mary L. Cox, Atlanta, Georgia; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews; nieces; cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Melvina Gwinn, husband, Cleveland Howze Sr., sister, Earlene Burden and a daughter, Charlotte Maxine Carr.
The service will be Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11 a.m. at Union Baptist Church in Coffeeville with viewing beginning  at 10 a.m.
Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
