Charles Michael McGowin, 57, of Alpharetta, Georgia died Sept. 27, 2011 at Northside Hospital Atlanta.
He attended Midway Methodist Church. He graduated from the University of South Alabama, Mobile in 1979 with a degree in marketing and transportation. He started his career with Vanity Fair in 1979 in Milton, Fla., as an industrial engineer and retired in 2008 at vice president of Vanity Fair Intimates in charge of product development in Alpharetta, Georgia. He loved boating and fishing with his buddies. He was a loving husband, father and uncle.
Survivors include his loving wife of 33 years, Mary Clyde McGowin of Alparetta, Georgia; sons, Dr. Greyson Lee McGowin, Birmingham, Michael Denby McGowin, Stephen Duvall McGowin, both of Cumming, Georgia; sister and brother-in-law, Gayle McGowin, Lonn Spencer, Mobile; numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by Charles Warner and Della Mae McGowin and a nephew, Charles McGowin spencer.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. at McDonald & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Cumming, Georgia.
