Mary S. Kotrola, 72, a native of Takoma Park, Md. and a resident of Thomasville for over 30 years, died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 at a Mobile hospital.
She was born April 28, 1939. She was a member of St. Joseph/Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Thomasville/Grove Hill. She was a homemaker and volunteer for the American Red Cross blood drives and Hospice in Thomasville.
Survivors include her husband, Al Kotrola; two sons, John S. (Nahed) Kotrola, Williamsburg, Virginia, Joseph A. Kotrola, Mobile; two daughters, Lauren M. Kotrola, Thomasville, Jennifer K. (Shawn) James, Fulton; three grandchildren, Hana N. Kotrola, Sean S. Kotrola, Cameron L. James; one brother, Gilbert S. Stearns, Dickinson, MD, numerous nephews and nieces.
The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Grove Hill Thursday, October 27, 2011, at 2 p.m. The Mass will be concelebrated by the pastor, Reverend Wayne M. Youngman, and former pastor, Reverend Patrick J. Madden. The cremains will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Catholic Charities Appeal, the Mobile Archdiocese Burse Club, or your favorite charity.
