Cecil Benjamin Morton Jr., 70, of Jackson died Oct. 23, 2011 at Springhill Memorial Hospital in Mobile.
He was born Sept. 11, 1941. He was a native of Mobile. He attended First United Methodist Church of Jackson. He was a member of the Jackson Golf Association. He was a retired technical service representative with Boise Paper Mill.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Morton, Jackson; one son, Mike (Danielle) Morton, Jackson; one daughter, Laurie Morton (Shane) Sullivan, Mobile; four grandchildren, Anna Katherine “Katie” Sullivan, Benjamin Hampton Morton, Margaret Ellen “Maggie” Sullivan, Laurel Caroline Morton.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil B. Morton Sr., his mother, Daisy Wilson Morton Johnson and a sister, Sue Morton Jones.
The service was Oct. 26 at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Jackson with Rev. Jim DuFriend officiating. Burial was in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson.
Active pallbearers were Mike Brown, Garrie Wheat, Roger Newton, Greg Jones, Mike Garrett, Michael Whitehead, Walt Rotch and Ron Scogin.
Honorary pallbearers were V.O. Krout, Jerry Horton, Frank Hickman, Gerald Skinner, Jay McKee, John Lee Fleming, John Russell Wilson, Sunday School class, and friends of the Jackson Golf Association.
