He was born April 13, 1930 in Selma. He was a member of Saraland Baptist Church. He was a retired paper mill receiving clerk.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Clarice McHaney, Saraland; five daughters, Judy Gail Heathcoe, Dorothy C. Watson, Margaret Michele Cooper, all of Semmes, Donna Faye McHaney, Brenda Kay Blitch, both of Birmingham; two brothers, Jack McHaney, Van McHaney, both of Thomasville; 10 grandchildren, Elijah Watson, Wilmer, Gabriel Wilson, Longmont, Colo., Katie Corrick, Birmingham, Seth Blitch, Dar Blitch, Caleb Blitch, all of Mobile, Bryan Cooper, Ashley Cooper, Scott Heathcoe, Tracy Heathcoe, all of Semmes; seven great-grandchildren.
The service was Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at Midway Baptist Church in Thomasville with Rev. Don Campbell officiating. Burial was in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were his grandsons.
