Grady Guy Dews, 84, of Mobile died Nov. 16, 2011 at Mobile Infirmary Hospital.
He was born July 24, 1927. He was a member of the Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church in Grove Hill. He was a former employee of Scotch Lumber Company.
Survivors include one daughter, Ann Sheets, Blaten Springs, Fla.; one stepdaughter, Glenda Alford, Blountstown, Fla.; four stepsons, Elroy Alford, James Alford, both of Thomasville, Johnny Ray Alford, Grove Hill, Harold Alford, Coffeeville, Buster Alford, Mobile; two step-sisters, Elma Wixey, Grove Hill, Katie Yow, Ocean Springs, Miss.; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a step-son, Elbert Alford, a daughter, Alice “Rebe” Sullivan, two step-daughters, Leila Ray Dungan, Hazel Dungan; two brothers, Doc Dews, Tommy Dews; two sisters, Carrie Alford, Betty Thomas.
The service was Nov. 19 at Grove Hill Methodist Protestant Church at 2 p.m. with Rev. Benny Crawford officiating. Burial was in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Dixons Mills.
