Rebecca Hill, 95, of Selma died Nov. 30 at Vaughn Regional Medical Center in Selma.
She was born May 11, 1916 to the parentage of the late Martin Hill and Eula Jenkins Hill. She was a native of Grove Hill. She retired as a domestic.
Before her health failed she was a member of Orange Hill Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, served as the usher and other capacities. She was also a member of Winbush Success Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 749. She loved children and took an active and caring role in raising many. She enjoyed canning fruits and lending a helping hand to others.
Survivors include a loving and devoted sister-in-law, Verona Hill, Grove Hill; among her nieces and nephews, two devoted nephews, Dewayne (Odeather) Chapman, Montgomery, Dr. Mark Hill, Bronx, New York; a devoted cousin, Ann Coleman-Paries, Pineapple; a devoted niece-in-law, Rosa Robinson-Clarke, Grove Hill; numerous other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Grady Hill and Gillis Hill.
The service will be Sat. Dec. 10, at 11 a.m. at Orange Hill Baptist Church in Grove Hill with Rev. James Barron, pastor, officiating. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Orange Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
