Gerald Gray Newton, 68, of Dickinson died Nov. 30, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Oct. 15, 1943 in Sweet Water. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church. He was a retired electrician.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Larrimore Newton, Dickinson; three sons, W. Shane Newton, G. Blaine Newton, Brent G. Newton, all of Fulton; one brother, Ben L. Newton, Aiken, S.C.; two sisters, Alice Willodean Webb, Robbie Edmonds, both of Thomasville; six grandchildren.
A graveside service was Dec. 3 at 1 p.m. at the Dickinson Cemetery with Revs. Harvey Hutto and Danny Ellis officiating.
Active pallbearers were Mike Norris, Joe Day, Michael Nelson, Jody Daniels, Rex Rush and Randall Robertson.
Honorary pallbearers were Sammy Hutto, Randy Garrick, Edward Walters, Donald Joe James, Kent Wiggins, Dan Sheffield, Glenn Andrews, Joe McNider and Rev. Gray Snodgrass.
