He was born Jan. 23, 1931 to the late Barney and Mattie Files Robinson. He was raised in Clarke County. He was a member of the St. Union Baptist Church. He left Jackson to attend Selma University and graduated from Virginia Union University in Richmond. He attained both a masters degree in social work and in divinity. He was a former director of the Charles County Maryland Department of Social Services. He was a former pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist and Potomac Baptist Churches in the northern part of Virginia. He and his beloved wife, Alice M. Robinson were married for 38 years before her untimely passing in 1995. They were the loving parents of four surviving daughters: Judge Sherrie Robinson Bailey and Rhonda Robinson, both of Baltimore, Maryland, Brenda Robinson, Bowie, Maryland, Alice Lorraine Robinson, Indian Head, Maryland, grandson, nephews and nieces residing in Alabama, New York and Maryland.
He was a devoted brother of former Clarke County Commissioner Jesse Robinson, James Robinson and Marvin Robinson, all of Jackson, David Robinson, Richmond, Virginia, Betty Robinson Marshall, Detroit, Michigan and the late George Robinson, Janie Williamson, and Voncile Robinson James.
The service was Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at the Rehoboth Baptist Church, 621 Alabama Avenue SE in Washington, D.C. Burial was in the Harmony Memorial Park in Landover, Maryland.
