Roosevelt Caves, 73, died Dec. 7, 2011.
He was born March 13, 1938 in Rockville to Emma Mae Washington and the late Lemmie Caves. He accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Rockville. He moved to St. Louis, MO in his late teens where he was employed at McDonald Aircraft (Boeing) until his health failed. He returned to Rockville in 1997 reuniting with Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church.
Survivors include his loving and devoted mother, Emma Mae Washington, Rockville; three loving brothers, Randolph Caves, Washington, D.C., Willie Earl (Dorothy) Caves, Chatom, L.R. (Faye) Caves, Daphne; two loving sisters, Patricia (Lou) Williams, Rockville, Cleaster Taylor, Detroit, Mich.; a host of nephews, eight devoted, the Rev. Sylvester Williams, Dan Williams, Tony Williams and Terry Williams, all of Mobile, Timothy Williams, Leroy, Roger Williams, Rockville, Davie Williams, Grove Hill; a host of nieces, two devoted, Debbie A. McMillan, Mobile, Kimberly Caves, St. Louis; nieces, two devoted, Debbie A. McMillan, Mobile, Kimberly Caves, St. Louis; devoted friends, Jimmy Ludgood, Jackson, Elbert Nettles, Grove Hill, Wendell Jackson, Rockville, Carol Lloyd (Sharonica Jackson and Christy Davis).
He was preceded in death by his brother, Ezell Caves and devoted friend, Lula Boyd.
The service was Dec. 17 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church in Jackson with Rev. Kevin Jackson, pastor, and officiating minister. Burial was in the Mt. Olive No. 1 Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
