Leslie McCharles Huggins, 72, of Jackson died Dec. 7, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Aug. 26, 1939. He was a member and a deacon of the Stave Creek Baptist Church and past master of Coffeeville Lodge #122 F&AM. He was a retired civil engineer with the State of Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Huggins, Jackson; two daughters, Sunni (Jesse) Pike, Wagarville, Tammy (Bryant) Williamson, Jackson; one brother, Russell Huggins, Grove Hill; two grandchildren, Daniel Levi Pike and Ella Marie Williamson.
The service was Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. at Stave Creek Baptist Church with Revs. Don Yancey, Percy Clarke and Bill Weide officiating. Burial was in the Ulcanush Baptist Church Cemetery in Coffeeville.
Active pallbearers were Jerry Thomas, Robert Powell, Steven Fairley, Archie Keel, Jesse Pike, and Gene Allday.
Honorary pallbearers were Betty Counselman, Mary Ann Pringle, Tom and Dixie Thompson, Rodney and Bobbie Lou Hancock, ABC Sunday School Class, Deacons of Stave Creek Baptist Church and the Coffeeville Class of 1957.
