Charles Ronald “Ronnie” Rorer, 67, of Grove Hill died Dec. 13, 2011 at UAB in Birmingham.
He was born Jan. 7, 1944. He was a native of Greensboro, North Carolina. He was a 1963 graduate of Notre Dame High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. He was a member of the Jackson Golf Association. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Air Force. He was a track supervisor for 32 years with Norfolk Southern Railroad.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Rorer, Grove Hill; his mother, Nancy Rorer, Greensboro, North Carolina; two sons, Kenny Rorer, Sean Rorer, both of North Carolina; one daughter, Deanna Kinman, Grove Hill; one brother, Lynn (Linda) Rorer, Pleasant Garden, North Carolina; one son-in-law, Ricky Kinman, Spanish Fort; two grandchildren, Chelsey Kinman, Courtney Kinman.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Rorer and a sister, Mary Ellen Rorer.
The service was Dec. 16 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Grove Hill with Rev. James Watkins officiating and Father Wayne Youngman officiating at the graveside committal at Magnolia Lawn Cemetery.
