Agnes S. Hammond, 94, of Jackson died Dec. 24, 2011 at Springhill Memorial Hospital.

She was born Oct. 11, 1917. She was a member of Mc- Cann’s Chapel United Methodist Church. She was co-owner of Jackson Target Mini Mart.

Survivors include one son, William C. “Billy” (Lea) Hammond Jr., Monroeville; three brothers, S.L. Strong, Mobile, Ralph Strong, Lane (Peggy) Strong, all of Jackson; one sister, Ann (Art) Wadleigh, Okalahoma City, Okla.; five grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat grandchildren.

The service was Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. at Lathan Funeral Home in Jackson with Rev. Molly Fulford officiating. Burial was in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson.

Active pallbearers were Lee W. Durden, T.J. Marshall, Trey Deas, Charles Moore Jr., Wayne Parker, Jimmy Parker and Gene Parker.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the McCann’s Chapel United Methodist Church and friends.
