Berta Mae Earley Lee, 84, of Pine Hill died Dec. 17, 2011 at her residence.
She was born Feb. 16, 1927 in Birmingham. She was a member of the Pine Hill Chapel of The Apostolic Faith. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Teresa A. (Charlie) Bowers, Birmingham; son-inlaw, Billy Averitt, Pine Hill; nine grandchildren, Jamie (Caroline) Averitt, Catherine, Brandun (Leigh) Averitt, Thomaston, Shannon Averitt, Pine Hill, Brittany Bailey, Raven Earley, Tuscaloosa, Michael Hardin, Anita West, Andrea West, Johnny West, all of Birmingham; 15 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other family members, and special children, teenagers and young adults she loved and welcomed in to her home and life along with special friends and neighbors who will miss her so much.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. “Paw Paw” Lee, a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Hardin, two brothers, Raybon Earley and Jerald Earley; and a sisters, Jewel Earley Huitt Kynard.
The service was Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at Pine Hill Chapel of The Apostolic Faith with Revs. Jim Arnoll and Mike Brening officiating. Burial was in the New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma.
Active pallbearers were Lee Barkley, Craig Whitfield, Chris Godbold, Chad Autrey, Wendall Newton and Brent Collins.
Honorary pallbearers were James Carpenter, Mike Stockman, Ralph Sheffield, Joe Hicks, Bobby Barkley, Kenneth Vick, Baxter Collins, Teddy Dunn and Billy Kynard.
