Commie Lee Armstead Jr., age 73, a native and resident of Suggsville was born to the parentage of the late Commie Lee Armstead Sr. and Carrie Lee Lynum Armstead on November 5, 1938. He departed this life January 2, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.

Mr. Armstead united with Saint Peter Baptist Church of Allen at an early age. He retired as a logger and was a joy to be around. He will be remembered for his love for hunting, being jolly, and sharing a joke or two with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his loving memories is his devoted family: a daughter, Carolyn Cook (Roy L. Miller), two grandsons, Roy Cook and Lymetrius ( Tonya) Cook, all of Mobile; two sisters, Carolyn Jean (Emmett) Price, Inglewood, CA, Urtha ( J.W.) Leggett, Mobile; six brothers, Alvin (Rose) Armstead, Ridgeville, S.C.; Eddie ( JoAnn) Armstead, Suggsville; Preston Armstead, Los Angeles, Calif., Jerry (Lorraine) Armstead, Jackson, Ondra Armstead, Grove Hill, Marshall (Rebecca) Armstead, New York, N.Y.; one brother-inlaw, James Hurst, Los Angeles, Calif.; two best friends, Dennis Foster and Howard; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Hurst and Maple Wiley.

Services will be Sat., January 7 at 1 p.m. from the Saint Peter Baptist Church of Allen. Rev. Matthew Davis, pastor; Rev. Tyrone Pogue, eulogist. Viewing will be Saturday, 12 noon until the 1 p.m. service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
