Hayward Odell Dixon, 90, of Millry died Jan. 3, 2012 at Washington County Infirmary.
He was born Nov. 14, 1921. He was a member of Millry Assembly of God. He was a United States Army Veteran having served during World War II. He was a retired mechanic with Allied Paper.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille L. Dixon, Millry; three sons, John W. Dixon, Michael Ray Dixon, both of Millry, Frank H. Dixon, Jackson; one daughter, Vera Lavone Goldman, Pennington; two sisters, Curnice Reed, Sadie Lee Tew, both of Mobile; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Millry Assembly of God with Revs. Bo Currie, Billy Kendrick, Mikey Havard officiating. Burial will be in the Kimbrough Memorial Cemetery with military honors.
Active pallbearers will be Dewayne Dixon, Todd Dixon, Josh Dixon, Neil Goldman, Thad Goldman, Adam Dixon, Brandon Dixon and Noah Goldman.
Honorary pallbearers will be Edward Massey, Clarence Carpenter, Glenn Dixon, James Brown, Dr. Paul Petcher, Wesley Dixon and Cody Dixon.
