Robert Albert Plummer, 80, of Valdosta, Georgia, formerly of Grove Hill died Dec. 29, 2011 at his residence.
He was born Dec. 26, 1931 in Grove Hill to the late Ralph H. and Carrie Riggan Plummer and had lived in Valdosta for the past 10 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Methodist Church. He was a 1955 graduate of Auburn University and the owner of a heavy equipment manufacturing company.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Albert (Sharon L.) Plummer, Ralph Samuel Plummer, all of Valdosta, Georgia, James Daniel, (Rebecca J.) Plummer, St. Petersburg, Fla.; one daughter, Frances Vivian Plummer (Shannon R. Jr.) Hollinger, Camden; two brothers, M.C. Plummer, Jackson, William Ralph (Hazel) Plummer, Camp Hill; four sisters, Dorothy (Bernard) Schenk, Thomasville, Leta Mae Plummer Williams, San Antonio, Texas, Katherine Elizabeth Plummer, (Douglas N.) Barfield, Montgomery, Virginia Plummer (Dewey H.) Crim, Johns Creek, Georgia; four grandchildren, Shannon R. Hollinger III, Frances Vivian Plummer, Hannah Kay Plummer, Chloe Ann Plummer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Ann Nettles Plummer, two sisters and brothers-inlaw, Frances Vivian Plummer Nichols and Buren Nichols, Mary Belle Plummer Anderson, Dovey Fair Anderson; a sister-in-law, Constance Furr Plummer and a brother-in-law, Ben Williams.
A family graveside service was Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. at Choctaw Corner Cemetery.
