Minnie Cravey Beverly, 100, of Thomasville died Jan. 30, 2012 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 12, 1911 in the Winn community. She was the last of 12 children born to John and Genie Cravey. She spent her entire life in Clarke County. She was a member of Thomasville Baptist Church, the Garden Club and was a past member of the Thomasville Library Board. She was a former elementary school teacher.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty (John L.) Carter, Jackson, JoAnn (Douglas) Wester, Huntsville; four grandchildren, Beverly Carter, Dr. John Wester, David Wester, Jay Wester; eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam Roland Beverly, one daughter, Sammy Kay Beverly and a grandson, Chris Carter.
The service was Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. at Thomasville Baptist Church with Revs. Ty Parten, David Nelson and Dr. James Best officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Dr. John Wester, David Wester, Jay Wester, John Carter, Jason Carter and Jared Carter.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Elect Sunday School Class of Thomasville Baptist Church and Christine Robinson, Margaret Garrett, Katherine Green, Christy Robinson, Gloria Robinson, Dorothy Johns and Frances Talley.
Memorials may be made to the Thomasville Baptist Church Hand in Hand Building Fund or to the donors favorite charity.
