Warrene Bolen Barbaree, 88, of Jackson died Feb. 10, 2012 at Jackson Medical Center.
She was born May 9, 1923. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, Garden Club of Alabama, W.M.U. and served for years on the Vanity Fair Park Committee. She was a retired secretary having worked for Vanity Fair Mills and Jackson High School.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Barbaree, Jackson; five nieces, Becky Stacy, Carolyn Tellier, both of Mobile, Flo Miller, Jackson, Dr. Nancy Henley Gillespie, Durham, N.C., Dana Bolen, Ft. Worth, Texas.
The service was Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home of Jackson with Rev. Tim Huie officiating. Burial was in the Pine Crest Cemetery in Jackson.
Active pallbearers were Bob Bumpers, Jim Reid, Bud Rogers, Arlen York, Harold Boldin, Jimmy Ricketts, Jimmy Allen and John Douglas McGowin.
Honorary pallbearers were Dwight Goolsby, Audra Rayborn, Joe Beverly and Melvin Joiner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Jackson.
