Gaines Raymond Adams, 82, of Thomasville died March 1, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary Medical Center.
He was born Oct. 31, 1929 in Gilbertown. He was a member of the Abba Temple Shrine and Oliver Lodge #334 F&AM in Thomasville. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran. He attended Thomasville Baptist Church. He was a retired insurance agent with Liberty National Life Insurance Company. He was the Voice of the Thomasville Tigers for over 33 years.
Survivors include his wife, Grace A. Adams, Thomasville; three daughters, Brenda (David) Cofer, Patricia Clanton, all of Dothan, Lenda (Buddy) Ezell, Stapleton; one sister, Vermel Nordan, Tuscaloosa; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces.
The service was March 3 at 2 p.m. at Thomasville Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Parten officiating. Burial was in the Bashan Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were David Cofer, Ira (Buddy) Ezell, Adam Clanton, Randy Adams, Chris Kelley and Lane Knight.
