George Oliver Clolinger, 77, of Jackson died March 3, 2012 at Providence Hospital.
He was born Aug. 3, 1934. He was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church. He held an associate’s degree in forestry from East Mississippi College where he played football after being an All-American Football Player at Jackson High School in 1953. He retired as a lab technician from Boise Paper Mill, retired a as forester with Palmer McGowin and was a businessman with several ventures.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Clolinger Jackson; one step-son, Terry (Georgia) Sears, Point Clear; one brother, Gordon Clolinger, Jacskon; one sister, Julia Parsons, Birmingham; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Alice Clolinger; two brothers, Edward Clolinger, Johnnie Clolinger; two sisters, Alice Hepstall and Ruth Johnson; and a step-daughter, Mona Patrick.
The service was March 5 at 3:30 p.m. at Lathan Funeral Home with Rev. Jamie Lay officiating. Burial was in the Trinity Memorial Gardens in Jackson.
Active pallbearers were Ron Clolinger, Al Clolinger, Bernard Hepstall, Jacob Earl Hepstall, Dale Jones and Jason Thomas.
