Mr. Oneal Clifford Finch, age, 81, a native and resident of the Manila Community of Jackson was born April 7, 1930 to the parentage of the late Clephus Finch and Elizabeth Finch. He departed this life Friday, March 30, 2012 at the home of his daughter, Faye.
Mr. Finch was a member of Cedar Fork Baptist Church, Suggsville. Before his health failed, he served faithfully as chairman of deacons, superintendent of the Sunday School, and in other various capacities. “Dr. Pepper” as he was affectionately called, retired as a logger.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Lee Finch, two brothers, Alvin House and George Finch, and one grandson, Rubin Williams.
Left to cherish his loving memories are: three sons, Willie (Barbara Jean) Finch, Columbus, GA; James Oneal Finch, Jackson, Minister Fredrick Portis, Grove Hill; two daughters, Faye (Willie) Wilson, Jackson, Valerie Finch, Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Axie Lee (Madison Jr.) White, Fort Worth, TX; four sisters-in-law, Velma Finch, Lou Ida Hannon, Nettie Williams, all of Jackson, Gracie (James) Soleyn, Mobile; two brothers-in-law, Grady Gordon, Lake Providence, LA, Raymond (Barbara) Gordon, Jackson; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, April 7 at 12 noon at Cedar Fork Baptist Church, Suggsville, Rev. Credell Bolden, pastor and eulogist. Viewing will be Friday, April 6 at 12 noon until 6 p.m. at Andrews Funeral Home. Viewing will be Saturday, April 7 at the church one hour before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery
