Arnell Chapman Payne, 89, of Jackson died April 10, 2012 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born June 15, 1922. He was a member of Peniel Baptist Church and the Jackson Rescue Squad. He was a United States Navy Veteran having served during World War II. He was a retired service manager with Pearce Motor Company.
Survivors include two sons, Van (Judy) Payne, Jackson, Randy (Sherry) Payne, Fulton; one step-son, Garrie L. (Pam) Wheat III, Jackson; one daughter, Margaret (Mike) Dailey, Sieverville, Tenn.; one step-daughter, Betty Jo (Bubba) Rikard, Jackson; nine grandchildren, Kent (Missy) Payne, Amy (Jay) Price, Elizabeth (Daniel) Robertson, Allison Payne, Tara G. Zirlott, Brandy Gartman, Kevin (Mariah) Wheat, Joy Rikard, Jessica R. (Jesse) Jones; 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marguerite M. Payne, his first wife, Doris Payne; grandchildren, Kimberly Payne and Jason Payne.
The service was April 13 at 11 a.m. at Peniel Baptist Church with Rev. Gerry Pickard officiating. Burial was in the Peniel Baptist Church Cemetery.
