Cecil Gray Phillips, 78, of Thomasville died April 18, 2012 at Jackson Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 27, 1934 in Coffeeville. He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran. He was a former security guard at Scotch Plywood Mill.
Survivors include one daughter, Kathy Phillips Garrick, Dickinson; one brother, Roy Lee Phillips, Thomasville; seven sisters, Edna Agee, Carol Newton, Beverly Haskew, all of Thomasville, Nettie Bryant, Myrtle Lois Roberts, both of Fulton, Peggy Daniels, Sweet Water, Jessie Faye Stephens, Grove Hill; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Faye Phillips, a son, Eric Glenn Phillips and a granddaughter, Chelsey Lynn Phillips.
The service was April 21 at 3 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Robbins officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Gary Garrick Sr., Gary Garrick Jr., Frank Robinson, Mark Williams, Mickey Phillips and Stevie Stephens.
Alternate pallbearer was Kavne Phillips.
Honorary pallbearers were Herman Stephens, Wayne Roberts, Roy Cassity, Jake Robinson, Jaden Robinson, Joshua Robbins, Keith Graham, Dr. Keith Scott.
