Mattie Lee Robinson, 91, died April 24, 2012 at Jackson Health Care Facility.
She was born April 15, 1920 to the late Calvin and Annie Kimbrough Robinson. She was a devoted Christian and faithful member of the Mt. Sinai No. 1 Baptist Church she served faithfully for more than 75 years in the missionary department, pastor’s aide and devoted her latter years to working with the White Circle Missionary. Her favorite saying was "Keep On Living."
She was united in marriage to Alex Scott Sr. She had a genuine love for family, caring for four generations of children during her lifetime. She also believed in serving her community.
Survivors include six daughters, Annie Nora Jackson, Fairhope, Irma (J.C.) Reed, Sunflower, Shirley (Gregory) Fountain, Jannie Collins, both of Jackson, Luerea Richardson, Leroy and Evangelist Audrey (Apostle Arthur Sr.) Wilson, Shreveport, LA; one brother, Calvin Robinson Jr., Jackson; two sisters, Bettie Turner, Jackson, Luvenia Scott, Mobile; 30 grandchildren; 76 great-grandchildren; 59 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; five sisters-in-law and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Alex and Mattie Bell Scott Jr.
The service was April 30 at Mt. Sinai No. 1 Baptist Church in Jackson with Revs. William Jackson officiating and Walter Bruce Johnson as eulogist. Burial was in the Mt. Sinai No. 1 Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackson Memorial Funeral Home directed.
Active pallbearers were her grandsons and great-grandsons. Flower bearers were her granddaughters and her great-granddaughters.
