Mrs. Aurie Lee Chapman Bumpers, age 87, a native and resident of Grove Hill was born November 24, 1924 to the parentage of the late Hallie Chapman and Lottie Chapman. She departed this life Sunday, May 6, 2012 at her home in the Zimco Community.
She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mount Zion Baptist Church #2 where she served as a Sunday School Teacher for the Primary Class, Secretary of the Missionary Department, a member of the Senior Choir, and many other ministries within the church.
Aurie was educated in the Clarke County (Coffeeville) Public School system, and boarding school in Bessemer. She was thoughtful, wise, outspoken and always inspired the value of education and goodwill to her children and others.
