George Thomas “Tommy” Dumas, 74, a native of Grove Hill died Thursday, May 3, 2012. He was born March 4, 1938, in Grove Hill and was a devoted husband and father, a graduate of Clarke County High School, a member of Union Baptist Church, and a retiree of Weyerhaeuser Co.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Sutton Dumas; four children, Thomas “Wayne” (Robyn) Dumas, Yvette Dumas (Odell) McGhee, Mary Guy (James) Reaves, Ramona Guy (Brent) Robinson; one brother, Woodrow (Pauline) Dumas; one sister, Maxine D. Larsen; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one aunt, Clarice Gates.
He was preceded in death by his father, Woodrow W. Dumas, mother, Etta Goodwin Dumas, and a brother, Royce D. Dumas.
The service was May 5 at 3 p.m. at Union Baptist Church. Burial was at Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers were James Reaves, Brent Robinson, Eddie Flint, Terry Simpson, Craig Hare and Grady Kilpatrick.
Honorary pallbearers were Odell McGhee and the Union Baptist Church Adult Men’s Sunday School Class.
