Clay King Tate, age 65, a native and resident of the Allen Community of Grove Hill was born November 9, 1946 to the parentage of the late Oliga Tate and Willie Morris Tate. He departed this life Tuesday, May 15, 2010 at Jackson Medical Center.
He accepted Christ at and united with Saint Peter Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and church treasurer. He retired from Boise (formerly Allied Paper) in the Utility Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Clarence Frazier.
Mr. Tate will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father. 
Left to cherish her memories: his wife of 42 years, Mary Ola Frazier Tate, Grove Hill; five sons, Calvin (Bettye) Tate, Jimmy Frazier, Max Frazier, all of Grove Hill, Grove Hill, Leron Tate, East Point, Georgia, Eddie (Angelia) Frazier, Apex, N.C.; three daughters, Debra Frazier, Patsene Ivory, Marilyn Parker, all of Grove Hill; one sister, Edna Williams, Birmingham; one nephew, Bubba Williams; three nieces, Evelyn (George) Robertson, Lois (Charles) Hunter, Jean (Bill) Banks; 15 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be Saturday, May 19 at 1 p.m. at Saint Peter Baptist Church, 3887 Simmons Creek Road, Grove Hill, AL 36451; Rev. Matthew Davis, pastor and eulogist. Burial was in the church cemetery.
