Ann Lyle Jeffrey, 71, of Thomasville died July 4, 2012 at her residence.
She was born April 7, 1941 in Benham, Kentucky. She was a past member of the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and was a Red Cross volunteer. She was a member of the Thomasville Research Club. She was a retired secretary at the Thomasville United Methodist Church where she was also a member and was active in the UMW and the choir.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph William Jeffrey, Thomasville; two daughters, Leigh Jeffrey (Dr. Mark) Walter, Vestavia Hills, Jennifer Jeffrey (Rev. Ty) Parten, Thomasville; one sister, Rosemary Tanner, Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren, Hannah Claire Walter, Samuel Mark Walter, Zoe Ann Parten, Isaac Jeffrey Parten, Sarah Elizabeth Parten, nephew, James Tanner; niece, Lynn Tanner.
The service was July 6 at 11 a.m. at the Thomasville United Methodist Church with Revs. George Sedberry, Robert Warren and Phil Craddock officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were John Nichols, Billy Dozier, Jeff Gibson, Brent Megginson, Chris Beverly, Stevie Ward, Earl Parrish and James Tanner.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Bishop, Harry Hodges, Hardie Kimbrough, Stan Wilborn, Henry North, Gerald Corgill, Wade Ward, Marshall Parten, Ed Sensintaffer, members of the Thomasville United Methodist Church UMW and the Thomasville United Methodist Church choir, the Salvation Army Advisory Board members and volunteers of the American Red Cross.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army, the United Methodist Children’s Home, St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to the American Cancer Society.
