William Lamar Hicks, 80, of Dickinson died July 18, 2012 at Grove Hill Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 7, 1932. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church of Scyrene. He was a retired car dealer.
Survivors include his wife, Havaline Joy R. Hicks, Dickinson; one son, Billy Hicks, Dickinson; one grandchild, Brandi Cheyanne, Dickinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Lee and Maggie Fendley Hicks, three brothers, Ralph Hicks, G.D. Hicks, Marvin Hicks and a sister, Marjorie Singleton.
The service was July 20 at 11 a.m. at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Harvey Hutto officiating. Burial will be in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jim Hudson, John Champion, John Green, Don Bradford, Chuck Turner, and Manuel Garrick.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack McHaney, Ronnie Jowers, Calvin Bradford, Harvey Sheffield, Winston Tate, and Lewellyn Stevens.
