Jewel Rae Baugh, 75, of Fairhope died Aug. 8, 2012.
She was born Jan. 9, 1937. She was a native of Grove Hill. Known in Fairhope as simply “Miss Jewel,” she was a devoted wife, loving mother and friend to all she met. She retired from the City of Fairhope after a 20 year career of cheerfully serving others. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Fairhope.
Survivors include her son, Mike (Kathy) Baugh, one daughter, Lisa (Patrick) Moody; one brother, Ralph (Maxine) Armistead; four sisters, Leila B. Newton, Nettie Craft, Dot (Ernest) Bell, Merle (Billy) Black; six grandchildren, Christina (Travis) Goodman, Brack (Laken) Harrell, Nathan Baugh, Lauren (Ryan) Scott, Sean Floyd, Robert Baugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Shelton G. Baugh; parents, Owen and Lena Armistead; one brother, O.T. Armistead; two sisters, Ora Haddox, Trula Edge.
The service was Aug. 13 at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Wolfe-Bayview in Fairhope. Burial was at Memory Gardens in Fairhope.
