William Raymond “Son” McManus, 85, of Sweet Water died Aug. 14, 2012 at his residence.
He was born June 28, 1927 in Surginer. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran. He was a member of the Dixons Mills Baptist Church. He was a former woodyard supervisor and he loved to sing.
Survivors include his wife, Josie Mayton McManus, Sweet Water; one son, Randy ( Judy) McManus, Columbus, Georgia; three daughters, Wanda Mc- Manus (Bruce) Etheridge, Sharon McManus (Matt) Mathers, Sherry McManus Blakeney, all of Sweet Water; one brother, James “Dink” McManus, Sweet Water; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren.
The service was Aug. 16 at 11 a.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Leon Harrison and Richard Martindale officiating. Burial was in the Sweet Water Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Chad McManus, Stacey McManus, Tyler Blakeney, Greg McManus, Rand Cooper and Mike Nelson.
Honorary pallbearers were Rusty Burnett, Lowell Lewis, Morgan Flowers, John Brunson and James McManus.
