He was preceded in death by his mother, Alberta Washington, his father, Eddie Tiggs, a host of sisters and brothers.
Before moving to Jackson, Mr. Tiggs was a resident of Walker Springs where he united with Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church and served on the usher board. He retired after many years of service as a truck driver for Jackson Sand and Gravel Company.
Although Mr. Tiggs never had any biological children, he was truly loved and adored by devoted nieces and nephews, Linda Diann (Arthur) Williams and Willie C. (Gloria) Robinson both of Walker Springs; Hattie Sampson and Harriette (Rev. T.L.) Douglas both of Jackson; Lillie (Joe) Sims and Dwight Whigham, both of Tampa, FL; Henry (Donna) Robinson of Houston, TX; six sisters-in-law, Susie Leggett, Jannie Leggett, and Velma Leggett, all of Walker Springs; Fannie Tiggs of Jackson; Artelia Tiggs of Mobile; AL; Emma Pierce of Biloxi, MS, and Rosie Smith of Cedar Park, TX; one brother-in-law, Curlee (Shirley) Leggett of Pittsburgh, PA; a devoted friend, Earl Moore, Sr. of Walker Springs. A host of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Viewing will be Saturday, Sept. 1, 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service at Greater Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Walker Springs. Following the burial in the church cemetery, the family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of the church.
