Elouise “Tee” Abston was born Jan. 6, 1947 in St. Stephens to the late Elouise and W.E. Abston. Tee, as she was affectionately known, was the seventh of 14 children. She departed this life on Aug. 17, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary. She was 65 years of age.
She joined the James Baptist Church at an early age. Loving people and always trying to help others, Tee touched the lives of all who loved her.
Two brothers, Alfred Abston and Theodis Abston and one sister, Augustine Cole, preceded her in death.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, the Rev. Paris (Tamika) Mc- Clain of St. Stephens and Jamie (Telisha) Abston of Montevallo; six grandchildren, Dionna, Paris Jr., Tamia, J.B., Kanaya and Jontae; 10 sisters and brothers, Rachel (Issac) Jones of Axis, Bernice Moore, the Rev. Ceaser Abston, Lenora Abston, Wade Abston, Dora (Leroy) Mitchell, Joseph (Debbie) Abston, all of St. Stephens, Catherine (Lawrence) Lilly of Montevallo, Willie Abston of Pamona, Calif., and James Abston of Duarte, Calif.; dear friend and cousin, Clara Perkins; Sherry Thames, whom she called her daughter; one uncle, Willie Abston of Whatley; one aunt, Janie Howell of Mobile; five godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were Aug. 25 at James Chapel Baptist Church in St. Stephens with the Rev. Victor Williams, pastor, and the Rev. Paris McClain officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were her nephews.
