Frank Wilburn Cobb, 87, of Grove Hill died Sept. 4, 2012 at Springhill Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 2, 1924. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church where he was a Sunday school teacher, deacon and choir director. He was a mason and member of the Macon Lodge #7 and Oliver Lodge #334 where he served as past secretary and past worshipful master. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a drilling superintendent with Chevron Oil Company.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cobb, Grove Hill; three sons, Joe Frank (Pat) Cobb, Tuscaloosa, William “Bill” O. (Paulette) Cobb, Northport, Danny T. (Kathy) Cobb, Gretna, La.; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 10 greatgrandchildren; two greatgreat grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar O. and Mamie McLean Cobb, a brother, John Elston Cobb and two sisters, Catherine Claire Cobb and Doris Cobb Osborne.
The service was Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with Revs. Johnny Gillis, Dan Finney and Father Jason Cobb officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
