Ashley “Ash” Barron Duke, 33 of Gainesville, Fla. died Sept. 11, 2012 after a lifetime fight with Cystic Fibrosis .
He was born June 17, 1979. He was a 1997 graduate of Palatka High School and a graduate of the University of Florida. Ash loved to play Hero Clix and computer games. He loved all animals. He will be particularly remembered for the love, faith and humor and perseverance that he demonstrated in adversity.
Survivors include his wife, Denise Wiles, Gainesville; his parents, Richard and Vicki Duke, Palatka; brother, sister-in-law, and nephew, Zach, Christina and Truett Duke of Palatka and grandmother, Maxine McMillan and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, E.P. and Laverne McMillan and Zed and Lillian Duke.
A memorial service was Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Missionary Church in Gainesville.
The family would like to thank the many area churches and prayer groups that have been praying for “Ash,” the extra strength was felt by the family.
