Lewis Andrew Parnell, 75, of Jackson died Sept. 20, 2012.
He was born Jan. 11, 1937. He was a native of Sunflower. He was a ship fitter with Alabama Dry Docks. He was an avid sportsman and loved to fish and hunt.
Survivors include six sons, Andrew Joe (Virginia) Parnell, St. Stephens, Jessie Ray (Miriam) Parnell, Millry, Larry Wayne (Rebecca) Parnell, Sherwood “Woodie” (Charono) Parnell, all of Walker Springs, Clay Anderson (Shana Lee) Parnell, Coffeeville, Billy Douglas (Tina Laree) Parnell, Jackson; three daughters, Brenda Joyce (Clay) Burroughs, Grand Bay, Edna Marie ( Jason) Parnell, Chatom, Misty Dianne (Paul) Walker, Jackson; one brother, Stevie Allen Parnell, Sunflower; three sisters, Sandra Dean Parnell, North Carolina, Tommie Irene Knapp, Saraland, Betty Jean Daniels, Ohio; 28 grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Joyce Parnell and two sisters, Mary Alice Gilchrist and Margaret Ann Williams.
A graveside service was Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Old Washington Cemetery in Hawthorn.
Active pallbearers were Matthew Joe Parnell, Jessie Ray Parnell Jr., Joshua Corey Thompson, Cody Edward Burroughs, Justin Clayton Parnell and Joel Marvin Thompson Jr.
