Marvin Edward Taylor, 66, of Calvert died Sept. 29, 2012.

He was born July 5, 1947. He was a United States Army Veteran during Vietnam. He was a member of the Chalker Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a retired superintendent with Brown & Root Construction.

Survivors include his wife, Marie “Ree Ree” Taylor, Malcolm; one son, James E. (Kim) Taylor, Leroy; father, Harry Edward “Tobe” Taylor, Tibbie; one brother, Toby (Anna) Taylor, Eight Mile; one sister, Brenda Taylor, Tibbie; two grandchildren, Madelyn Taylor and Jordan Taylor; special friends, Gordon Parnell, Curtis Green, Cecil Jordan, Joseph “Goppy” Knight.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Rossie Brown Taylor.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Chalker Memorial United Methodist Church from 3 p.m. until the service at 4 p.m. Burial will be in the Chalker Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Gordon Parnell, Curtis Green, Herbert “Doots” Howard, Noel Turner, Rusty Taylor and Shea Burnside.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cecil Jordan, Billy Rivers, and Joseph “Goppy” Knight.
