Mattie Alice Nichols Deaton, 94, of Thomasville died Sept. 28, 2012 at Mobile Infirmary.
She was born Nov. 5, 1917 in Nicholsville. She held many jobs from drug store clerk to waitressing.
Survivors include three sons, William (Dot) Fendley, James R. Fendley, all of Thomasville, Melvin T. Fendley, Saraland; three daughters, Betty Thompson, Thomasville, Carolyn Roberts, Grove Hill; stepdaughter, Ann (Bob) Hudson, Bel Air, MD; two step-sons, James (Jackie) Nichols Sr., Memphis, Tenn., William Deaton, Amory, Miss.; one daughterin law, Judy Nichols, Grove Hill; two sisters, Anna Lou Johnson, Selma, Evelyn Ross, Selmont, AL; numerous grandchildren; greatgrandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The service was Oct. 1 at 2 p.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory, Miss. with Rev. George Collins officiating. Burial was in the Haughton Memorial Gardens in Amory, Miss.
