Joseph Benjamin Knapp, 87, of Tibbie died Sept. 27, 2012.
He was born Aug. 13, 1925. He was a member of Tibbie Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He was retired as a machinist for Olin Chemical.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Mae Knapp, Tibbie; two daughters, Carolyn (Rusty) King, Tibbie, Faye (A.C.) Motes, McIntosh; one brother, Herman (Ethel) Knapp, Tallassee; one sister, Jewel Hoffman, Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Renee (Steven) Specht, Mobile, Michelle (Carey) Sanderson, Jacksonville, A.J. (Mylisa) Motes, McIntosh; two great-grandchildren.
The service was Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. at Tibbie Baptist Church with Revs Darryl Brunson, Dean Downey, and Carey Sanderson officiating. Burial was in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Wesley Knapp, L.M. Knapp, Sherrill Parnell, Mike Knapp, Cole Pace, and Grant Baxter.
Honorary pallbearers were Bennie Harris, Matt Pace, John Clark, Otis James, Tom Baxter, Kermit Townsend and Nolan Baxter.
