A.L. “Red” Sims, 83, of Thomasville died Oct. 7, 2012 at his residence.
He was born July 11, 1929 in Sunny South. He was a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Oliver Lodge #334 F & AM of Thomasville for 50 years. He was owner and operator of the Alabama Grill for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Madelyn Louise Vick Sims, Thomasville; one son, Mark (Robin L.) Sims, Thomasville; four grandsons, Alex (Crystal) Sims, Jason (Korey) Sims, Drew Sims, Trey Lowrey, all of Thomasville; four great-grandchildren.
The service was Oct. 9 at 3 p.m. at O’Bryant Chapel with Rev. George Sedberry officiating. Burial was in the Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville.
Active pallbearers were Alex Sims, Jason Sims, Drew Sims, Trey Lowrey, Eddie Vick, and Walt Pope.
