An Alabama native, Mrs. Jackson was a long-time member of Elkdale Baptist Church and was a member of the Eastern Star. Her special joy in life was singing about her Christ and cooking for her family.
Survivors include sons, Johnie E. (Jacqueline) Jackson, Colorado Springs, Colo., Russell B. Jackson and his partner, Brian Stano, Anniston; a daughter, Joan Sanders (James) Sewastynowicz, Anniston; six grandchildren, Tanya (Mike) Snively, John Sanders, Lee Sanders, Burke (Candice) Jackson, Brent (Candice) Doriety, and Joy Doriety; two brothers, William (Mary) Branton, Carl V. Branton; one sister, Mary Branton (LaRue) Whitfield; ten great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie P. Jackson; and two sisters, Beulah Carlisle and Ruth Hinson.
A graveside service will be Thursday, Dec. 6 at 1 p.m. at Pineview Memory Gardens in Valley Grande, Ala.
