Gilbert Ray Lang, 68, of Decatur died Dec. 10, 2012 in Marengo County.
He was born April 13, 1944 in Meridian, Miss. to Uban Clarence Lang and Alice Beatrice Kemp Lang. He lived most of his life in Meridian but was a resident of the Decatur area for the past 15 years. He attended Westmeade Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved the outdoors.
Survivors include two daughters, Daphne (Richard) Baker, Decatur, Melia Fuller, Meridian, Miss.; three brothers, Willie Frank “Buster” Lang, Heflin, Louisiana, A.C. “Buddy” Lang, Hickory, Miss., Raymond (Mabel) Land, Dekalb, Miss.; three sisters, Leona Smith, Meridian, Miss., Loraine (Wiley) Mosley, Collinsville, Miss., Louise Smith of Arkansas; three grandchildren, Brittany Baker, Birmingham, Brooke Baker (A.J.) McNutt, Calera, Morgan Fuller, Meridian, Miss.
A memorial service will be Thursday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 14 from 11:45 a.m. until 1:45 p.m. at the Robert Barham Family Funeral Home in Meridian, Miss. The graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church Cemetery in Meridian, Miss.
