Doris Elvie Black, 80, of Sweet Water died Dec. 21, 2012 at her residence.
She was born Sept. 3, 1932 in Exmoore. She was a former seamstress at Vanity Fair. She was a member of the Old Union Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, James D. (Susan) Black, Donald J. (Renee) Black, Johnny D. (Annette) Black, all of Sweet Water; three daughters, Linda ( John) Sommers, Gastonburg, Patsy (Edward) Sheffield, Sweet Water, Sherrie (Perry) McKinley, Fulton; one sister, Kathleen P. (Kinner) Jowers, Sweet Water; 20 grandchildren; 30 greatgrandchildren; one greatgreat grandchild.
The service was Dec. 24 at 11 a.m. at Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water. Burial was in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jerry Scott Walker, Donnie J. Black, Dewayne Black, Trey McKinley, T.J. Black and Shawn Walker.
Honorary pallbearers were Kimmer Jowers, Patrick Sheffield, Brandon Black, A.J. McCaskey, John Wesley Sommers and Lucas Tyler.
