Vernon Lee Adams, 56, of McIntosh died Jan. 11, 2013 at Providence Hospital in Mobile.
He was born May 14, 1947. He was the son of the late Amanda and B.R. Adams. He was a Vietnam veteran, an entrepreneur and a member of the St. Union Baptist Church in McIntosh.
Survivors include two sons, Xavier Adams, Long Beach, Calif., Sergio (Andrea) Adams, Norfolk, Va.; three daughters, Jasmin (Terrance) Johnson, Ft. Smith, Ark., Verna Adams, Lemoore, Calif., Mercedes Adams, San Diego, Calif.; 10 siblings, Thelma Maiben, Cincinnati, Ohio, Helen (Willard) Law, Velma (Rudolph) Andry, John L. (JoAnn) Adams, Charles E. (JoAnn) Adams, Morris Dean (Valoris) Adams, Aaron (Sharon) Williams, all of McIntosh, Linda Adams, Valerie Jones, both of Birmingham, Lenette (Marc) Wallace, Algonquin, Ill.; numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and dedicated friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Tammy Adams; son, Remington Steel Adams; daughter, Jasmine Dynasty Rose Adams; and brothers, Earl Stanley Adams and Fredrick Adams.
The service will be Saturday, Jan. 19, at St. Union Baptist Church. Viewing will be from 12 noon until the 1 p.m. funeral hour. Rev. Al Clyde Sauls is pastor and Min. Aaron Williams will be officiating minister. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside, with interment in the Seals Cemetery in McIntosh,
Jackson Memorial Funeral Home will direct.
The family will receive friends following interment in the St. Union Fellowship Hall.
