Melvin White, 69, of Pine Hill died Jan. 21, 2013 at his residence.

He was born April 18, 1943 in Milton, FL. He was a member of the Yellow Bluff Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. He was owner of M.C. White Trucking Company.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret Nell White, Pine Hill; two sons, Gregory Carl White, Williams Bruce (Linda) White, both of Pine Hill; three sisters, Betty Mitchell Horton, Pine Hill, Ella Colley, Mary Jane (Bruck Blackburn, all of Panama City, Beach, FL; one grandchild, Daserre Kathlin White, North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William Ray White.

The service was Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Alan Odom and Aubrey Wallace officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery #2 in Maplesville.

Active pallbearers were Marvin Smith Jr., Jason Harvell, Mark Smith, Walter Smith, Kevin Averitt, Johnny Campbell, Skipper Wallace, Dusty Button, Jimmy Johnson, Kenneth Roaster and David White.

Honorary pallbearers were Alan Odom, Jerry Stough, Brandon Stough and Steve Wells.
