Stephen Clay Carpenter, 26, of Leroy died Jan. 28, 2013 in Pensacola, FL.

He was born Nov. 8, 1986. He was a graduate of the class of 2005 from Jackson Academy. He worked as a fabricator and welder for G.A. West Construction. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, racing fourwheelers and riding motorcycles.

Survivors include his mother, Tracey Carpenter Roney, Leroy; his step-father, Jimmy Roney, Leroy; two brothers, William Taylor Rawls Carpenter, Leroy, Luke David Waters, Daphne; one sister, Raechel Jane Carpenter, Leroy; Hank Roney, Wagarville, Jon Hunter Roney, Calvert; grandparents, Jane and Glan Rawls, Leroy, Carolyn and Carlton Carpenter of Jackson and Houston and Patricia Roney of Wagarville; a grea-grandmother, Martha Powell, Jackson and his fiancé, Raven Kay Poole, Leroy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Ray Carpenter.

Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 31 from noon until the 3 p.m. service at the First Baptist Church in Leroy with Rev. James Watkins to officiate. Burial will be in the New Leroy Baptist Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Heath Sullivan, Hugh Sullivan, Jeremy Wilson, Jeff Griffin, Jack Spearman and Scotty Finch.

Honorary pallbearers will be the 2003 Jackson Academy Championship Football Team and Coaches.
