James Woodrow Jowers, 75, of Thomasville died Feb. 3, 2013 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 22, 1937 in Nanafalia. He was an equipment operator with the Alabama State Highway Department.
Survivors include his wife, Murray Jean Jowers, Thomasville; two sons, James Willis “Bubba” (April) Jowers, Surginer, Ronald Woodrow (Kayla) Jowers, Scyrene; five daughters, Shanda (Jake) Epp, Santa Fe, NM, Niki (Michael) Jowers, Mary Jowers, all of Thomasville, Sandy (Cecil) Jowers, Jackson, Leigh (Curtis) Barnes, Dickinson; five grandchildren.
The service was Feb. 5 at 11 a.m. at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with Revs. Hall Taylor and Clifford Moore officiating. Burial was in the Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Sweet Water.
Active pallbearers were Jerry R. Dunn, Thad Dunn, James Gates, Michael Phillips, Craig Anderson and Jeffrey Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Walter Maness, Roger Maness, the Staff of Southern Care Hospice and Amedysis Home Health of Thomasville.
